WHAT IS MEDITATION?
Meditation is a practice where an individual uses a technique – such as mindfulness or focusing their mind on a particular object, thought or activity – to train attention and awareness, and achieve a mentally clear and emotionally calm state.
Meditation has the following components:
a) Self-Regulation Practices
b) Training/regulation of one's attention/awareness
c) Gain greater voluntary control of mental processes, leading to better mental well being
d) Development of calmness, clarity, and concentration
e) Self-regulation of body and mind
e) Gaining of personal experiences of rest, silence, heightened alertness, and happiness.
